Joan of Arc

Jules Bastien-Lepage was a French painter closely associated with the beginning of Naturalism, an artistic style that grew out of the Realist movement and developed in France alongside Impressionism. Émile Zola described Bastien-Lepage's work as "impressionism corrected, sweetened and adapted to the taste of the crowd."

Joan of Arc is an oil on canvas painting by Jules Bastien-Lepage, from 1879. It was exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889. It is held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in New York.
