The Slave Ship

Joseph Mallord William Turner, known in his time as William Turner, was an English Romantic painter. He elevated the status of landscape painting and is considered a precursor of Impressionism and one of the greatest and most influential British painters.

The Slave Ship, originally titled Slavers Throwing overboard the Dead and Dying—Typhon coming on, is a painting by the British artist J. M. W. Turner, first exhibited at The Royal Academy of Arts in 1840.
